Custom tournaments

A custom tournament is one Fanzava does not run from its own fixtures, such as a club cup, a company knockout or a local draw. Fanzava’s team sets it up and records its results. You do not build or score it yourself.

Contact support with:

  1. The teams, in draw order. First-round matchups pair them in the order you give: the first with the second, the third with the fourth, and so on. Seed numbers are optional. They show beside each team and do not set the pairings.
  2. The size of the draw. A single-elimination draw of 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 or 128 teams. There are no byes, so every first-round slot needs a team. Play-in games can fill the last slots and are settled before the bracket locks.
  3. The lock time. The date and time after which participants can no longer submit or change their bracket. This is typically just before the first match starts.
  4. How many brackets each participant may enter. Any number from 1 to 5. It is 1 unless you ask for more. See multiple brackets per participant.

To work out the draw order before you send it, lay the field out in the free bracket maker.

Fanzava’s results feed carries nothing for a custom tournament, so nothing scores until a result is recorded. Once the bracket locks, Fanzava’s team records each matchup’s winner as it is decided. Fanzava then advances the winner to the next round and rescores every affected bracket automatically.

If a result was recorded incorrectly, Fanzava’s team can reset it before the matchup it fed into has a result of its own. Resetting rescinds points for every affected pick and reopens the matchup. This cannot be undone once the next round has moved on from it.
