The leaderboard
The leaderboard ranks everyone in the competition by total points. You can see it on the competition page, in the Leaderboard tab, and in full by selecting Open full leaderboard. Your organiser may use a different word for it, such as “Standings”.
How you are ranked
Section titled “How you are ranked”Places are decided by total points first. If you are level with someone, these decide it, in order:
- Tiebreaker margin. Each round has one tiebreaker game, the round’s first game by kickoff. If your competition asks for a margin on it, the difference between your predicted winning margin and the real one is added up across the season, and the smaller total ranks higher. If you enter no margin before that game locks, the competition’s default margin is counted for you instead.
- Later-round form. Your correct tips, weighted by the round they were in, so correct tips late in the season count for more than early ones.
If you are still level after both, you share the place, and the next place is skipped: two people tied for second both show as 2, and the next person is 4th.
When it updates
Section titled “When it updates”Points appear as each game’s result comes in and is scored, so the leaderboard moves during a round, not only at the end of it. Bonuses that depend on a whole round, such as a perfect round bonus, are added once every game in the round has a result.
On the full leaderboard
Section titled “On the full leaderboard”The full leaderboard adds:
- Rank history: your position after each scored round, plotted as a chart. It starts once round one’s results are in.
- Biggest movers: who has climbed or fallen furthest. Rank changes appear after at least two rounds have been scored.
- Share leaderboard: a short link to the leaderboard you can send to someone else in the competition.
Group leaderboards
Section titled “Group leaderboards”If your competition uses groups, such as teams, offices or regions, the competition page has two more tabs:
- Groups shows the leaderboard for a group: only its members, ranked against each other. Your place in a group can be very different from your overall place.
- Group Rankings ranks the groups against each other, either by the average points of their members or by their combined total.
Hiding yourself from the leaderboard
Section titled “Hiding yourself from the leaderboard”You can choose not to appear on a competition’s leaderboard:
- Open the competition and select the My Settings tab.
- Under Leaderboard visibility, switch Appear on Leaderboard off.
While you are hidden, you do not appear on that competition’s leaderboard for anyone, including yourself, and the places close up so there is no gap. You keep tipping and scoring as normal, and the competition’s organisers can still see you in their admin views. The setting is per competition, and you can switch it back on at any time.
