Hub admin permissions
You can give other people in your organisation access to help run your hub, each with their own sign-in, so nobody needs to share an account. The people who help run a hub are its team members.
A team member is either an administrator or a moderator. The person who created the hub is shown as its Owner.
| Role | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Full access to all hub settings and management: competitions, scoring, participants, branding, integrations and billing |
| Moderator | Looking after the community: participants, content and moderation, such as the Banter Board’s moderation queue |
Moderators can open the admin dashboard, but anything that changes the hub’s settings, its competitions or its plan needs an administrator, and a moderator who tries it is refused.
Inviting a team member
Section titled “Inviting a team member”- Go to Admin → Settings → Team members.
- Select Invite Team Member.
- Enter their Email Address and choose a Role. The role starts on Moderator, so switch it to Administrator if that is what you mean.
- Send the invitation.
The invitation is emailed to them. It appears under the Pending Invites tab until they accept it, and from there you can resend it or cancel it.
Depending on your hub’s security settings, you may be asked to set up multi-factor authentication before you can invite someone, because adding a team member gives another person access to the hub. See Multi-factor authentication.
Changing a role
Section titled “Changing a role”On the Team Members tab, edit the team member and choose their new role. The new role applies from their next action in the hub.
Removing a team member
Section titled “Removing a team member”On the Team Members tab, select Remove beside the team member. Anything they did while on the team, such as competitions they created or settings they changed, stays as it is. The hub’s Owner cannot be removed.
Removing a team member removes their membership of the hub, not just their role. Tips and scores they already have in competitions stay on record, but to take part again they need to rejoin the hub as a participant.
Seeing the hub as a participant
Section titled “Seeing the hub as a participant”Team members can take part in competitions too. The admin sidebar has a member view switch that takes you to the hub as participants see it, with your own tips and leaderboard places, and back again.
How many team members you can have
Section titled “How many team members you can have”There is no limit on the number of administrators or moderators on any plan. Plans differ in participant numbers and features, not in the size of your team. See Billing and plans.
